Tofu Fries!

Exciting discovery this week! Melissa has introduced me to... TOFU FRIES! I love the Raffles City basement for all the unique and awesome food it has, and the fact that it's just a stone throw from SMU, so any mid-mugging craving is easily satisfied via a short 5 minute walk.
Presenting these crispy golden, lightly spiced pieces of Taiwanese street snack that make you semi-believe you are being healthy because they're tofu, and thus ignore the fact that it's deep fried because it's so DELICIOUS! The one above is cheese flavour! It's pretty strong!
And today I tried "Garlic Seafood" which is more garlic than seafood, but still yummy! They have many other flavours like BBQ, seaweed, curry, etc.
The best part is they prepare it on the spot, so it's still warm and crispy on the outside, soft and tofu-y on the inside. Best to eat it right away!
One bag of Tofu Fries costs $2.50, pretty competitively priced compared to the other snacks in the vicinity. They're actually meant to be a side to the mains such as the fried chicken, or fried portobello mushrooms (which I tried and are awesome too), but serve as a nice, light snack. I do wish they would give us more per baggie though! They go so fast :(
I ♥ Taimei is located in the Raffles City Basement, unit no. #B1-58. In easy speak, it's opposite Jason's Market Place, same row as Tako Pachi, Chippy's and Best Fries Forever!
