Grana Pop Up Singapore

Swung by my first Grana pop up here in Singapore on Friday for the VIP media preview party with my girls. I've been working with / wearing the brand for over a good two years and it's definitely a go-to place for great quality basics. It was so nice to finally get to see the brand in its full fledged, physical form - the shop front alone looks like something out of a magazine, and it's perfectly situated opposite Tiong Bahru Bakery / Merci Marcel and definitely worth a pop by after a brunch.

We showed up dressed fully dressed by Grana, of course.


Brand colour cupcakes - I feel like this half eaten one is an accurate representation of my heart: blue and frosty on the outside, pink and squishy in the middle :'D


We explored the clothes - they have great fabrics from Chinese Silk, to French Linen and Peruvian Pima Cotton; and everything was hanging on the most perfect mint green clothes racks (so inspired by this shade - maybe I will paint my clothes racks for my house mint green now).


I always make sure to take at least one ratchet picture of Laveena at every event - ha! Not sure why she is making this face, the wine was pretty excellent! (I would know, I had 3 glasses on an empty stomach, oops).



Manda and I both twinned in their camisoles, I love how far apart the straps are - the perfect cami I've been looking for!!! (Also, we always choose the same things, we have such similar taste).

Singapore Fashion Week 2016 - Day Three

Hey guys, guess I have been (more than) a little tardy with my blogposts. I'd like to blame the Christmas crush, and I guess I haven't really had the mood... but I'm back! There's this crazy part of me that wants to make everything chronological so I'm kind of bent on making sure all my SGFW posts are out before I move on. This one was on my last day (since I couldn't go for Day 4 because of a wedding!) but really 3 days was more than a girl could ask for. Chi Chi Von Tang wasn't really my style BUT I do appreciate their attempt at making the show more than just a runway, and how unique the designs are. Once again thanks to NARS, it was great to have the opportunity to get up close to the designs backstage and be amazed at how much work goes into what we attendees see as just 15 minutes of fashion show.

For the next show, and the one I had been most excited all week, Jac and I watched Exhibit Store! Crushed velvet, satin in not too seasonal colours of eggplant purple, mustard and bronze. I do wish the runway were brighter to see the clothes better - and the showmanship left me feeling a little high and dry - I think it was a mix of over-expectation, especially from Sheranut the day before.

Anyway, that's all I have to say! The end of this great experience - went in to Singapore Fashion Week all doe-eyed, and emerged exhausted but definitely more inspired and seasoned. Thanks NARS Singapore for scoring me these tickets, fingers crossed to be back again next year!

Singapore Fashion Week 2016 - Day Two

Day Two of Singapore Fashion Week! Brought the big sister along who was super excited about it - I think I started my obsession with fashion and shopping thanks to her, haha. We went in between two shows, Hardy Hardy, a subset of Ed Hardy which was fun albeit a bit rock and rolla for me (though the models were gorgeousss); and Sheranut, a Thai designer I really fell in love with!

While we were waiting for the show to start, the music was kind of funny - just birds squawking and elephants trumpeting, but I love how once the show started it made sense. The clothes drew safari references without being too literal, at the same time being very fashion forward and modern (Velvet? Fringe? Check!)

Everything was carefully coordinated to suit this vision, from the headdresses to the tribal makeup. Best part - after the show finished, the models actually stood still like statues on the runway for us audience to actually stand up and get the chance for an up close, detailed look. It's quite genius move as well (instead of just ending the show with the models backstage) because it generated a bit of hype and opportunity to get a better picture for Instagram (or my blog, muahaha), as well as to really appreciate the intense detail in the clothes. It also occurred to me that the models were standing there for people to observe, kind of like a safari once again, and super in theme. I had so much fun shooting  it all. Sometimes taking photos alone gives me a bit of a giddy high, does anyone know how I feel?
