Little Diner Singapore

Posted on Thursday, August 29, 2013

When I think of brunch in the west of Singapore, names such as Choupinette come to mind, so when we decided to be a little more adventurous and try out Little Diner at 6th Avenue, which isn't as well covered by the food blog scene, but definitely worth a visit!

Zee neighbours! (And the little sis who is a fattykins next to me).

My dish! They have many egg benedict variations such as The "Krusty Krab" Benedict and Supernova Eggs Benedict, but I go with The Italian Benedict ($16.50++) because I'm a sucker for parma ham :} Good, good stuff! The brioche is soft and absorbs all the runny egg yolk, and the parma ham is so generous I don't even have to ration it out! (I have this weird need to eat and finish all ingredients at the same time).

Pei Ting gets the "Krusty Krab" Benedict ($16.50++), where the crab in question is described as a 'Golden crabcake pillow' (which already sounds amazing), and I do try a bit of it! It's crispy and freshly fried, and maybe a bit too small because then I couldn't ask PT for more HAHA. However, I wouldn't order this personally as I feel that eggs benedicts need something in between the egg and the brioche, you know? Just a personal preference.

What I should have ordered!!! I was totally eyeing the Baked Mac & Cheese ($15.50++) on the lunch menu, but I was in the mood for egg benedict, see, and Pei Li was ordering so it means I got to try both! Would definitely order this if I came again, piping hot, gooey, and such a generous portion compared to other Mac & Cheese's i've tried! Yummy!

And Miranda's dish - so typical that she goes for the sweet instead of savoury! This must be where this girl gets all her crazy hyper energy from haha. It's the Stuffed Super Cereal-Crusted French Toast ($15.50++) which is seriously high level and I've never tasted so much depth in just one french toast. It's stuffed (as the name suggests) to the brim with nutella, with strawberries on the side and drizzled in maple syrup and powdered sugar! There's supposed to be bananas too but the orderee doesn't like them (whattt). A worthy dish to order as a dessert for sharing!

And a group photo! Friendship of 10 years and counting! Much love

Mixing it Up

Posted on Tuesday, August 27, 2013

F21 Striped Top | F21 Floral Skirt | Michael Kors Clutch | Itti & Otto Pumps

The area behind SMU that is Waterloo is surprisingly photogenic with old rustic shophouses painted in all shades of funky colours. Chanced upon this brightly coloured structure while Justin and I were adventuring our way to Sim Lim Tower (where apparently, you can get Ray Bans at super reasonable prices at Soon Lee Optical Co!) Needless to say, I finally got my gold+green Ray Bans which I've been wanting for the longest time as my birthday present and then we had an awesome pre-birthday noms at the newly renovated Sushi Bar @ Far East Plaza, which I shall review soon :) The days are so busy and the posts keep piling up - there's just so much to do and blog about! But that's a good thing I guess ;)

22

Posted on Monday, August 26, 2013

Hey guys, I had such a blessed 22nd birthday. To be honest, after going crazy last year on my 21st, turning 22 doesn't seem all that interesting, but it was still a great couple of days, waking up on the day itself to a specially cooked (PORK) Gyu-don by Justin for my birthday lunch, and then a guiltily pricey dinner at The White Rabbit but I'm so glad to be pampered by my family on this special day (THANK YOU MUMMYKINS), plus I finally got to try the Truffled Mac & Cheese here ahh! Thanks for all the birthday wishes on Facebook, Instagram, text, whatsapp and what not. I always make it a point to thank everyone individually and I seriously hope I didn't forget to respond to any :< Some of my best memories for those few days would be my little sister serenading me in my room at the top of her voice with Taylor Swift's "22", my special cupcake surprise by dear Yale, and pre-birthday shopping + noms at the Sushi Bar with my favourite boy! And just like that, it's on to letting other people having their turn in the limelight with their birthdays! Till next year!

Waffle Party

Posted on Thursday, August 22, 2013

Here's pictures from our Waffle Party cum Belated National Day celebrations at jolo's house! We had all kinds of condiments to throw on the waffles thanks to Jo's meticulous planning as usual. Hell, we even had old school goodie bags with our own Singapore flag! Ate too many waffles to count in one sitting (did you know that waffles + scrambled eggs are pretty awesome?) and did not do anything patriotic except take this group photo waving our flags around! All in all a pretty successful Waffle Party ;)

The Summer that Never Ended

Posted on Saturday, August 17, 2013

Summer is coming to an end and it's hard not to feel like I've had one of the best Summers of my life. I made the decision to drop out of the rat race and not hunt for an internship, and instead started working on things that I've been wanting to do, like getting experience on what it's like running an online retail business, working on to my photography portfolio, spending tons of quality time with loved ones, having the flexibility to drop things at a moment's notice to just gogogo. This outfit post was taken in between a job with Wonderstellar that I was suppose to be shooting, but I couldn't resist the opportunity to get a photo with the beautiful surroundings! By the way, I think I've over-worn this Feist Heist top this Summer, time to find the next perfect white tee to go with everything :

Clinique with E-main!

E-main and I signed up for the Clinique Beautylista Workshop for the fun of it, which was obviously a marketing strategy to get young girls like us to start using their products, but it was pretty worth it because we got 2 hours of make up class / introduction to test almost all the Clinique products / a $60.00 Clinique voucher to redeem their products at Sephora / free Yoga classes at True Yoga... You get the point! By the end of the session I literally had ten layers of expensive stuff on my face, which was awesome hahaha.

The session was in Sephora itself, so I think we looked like a sight in our special headscarves and poncho thingums, but damn they were useful!

Not only A&F model but Clinique model now too hahahaha.

DOES MAH FACE LOOK BEAUTIFUL.

And the end result of our fiddling around with all the Clinique makeup! Really zheng-ed our faces! If only I had the patience to do this every day!

And we claimed our $60.00 vouchers at Sephora that very day, I got the Clinique Moisture Surge CC Cream, and the Clinique Even Better Concealer which I seriously hope helps my dark rings but right now the pot looks so new and perfect I can't bear to stick my brush in and destroy it. Does anyone else feel this way about their new make up??? :(

Ok end of my happy bimbo entry!
