Beauty is Found Within

Posted on Sunday, March 26, 2017

Just watched Beauty and the Beast last weekend! You know a movie is good when you know what happens in the end but it still gives you chills anyway. A big thanks to Skin Inc for hyping the whole experience up for me a week prior to the movie by sending over their Limited Edition Disney Beauty and the Beast Get Glowin' kit (the first ombre Daily Dose bottle with a rose gold charm!) as well as pampering us to a private screening - so much feels. Justin and I skipped going for our annual Gold Class movie during our anniversary this year because we didn't have time (it's like our thing), so it's really nice to get the chance to do it in the end! Guess things just always work out?

Anyway, I just rewatched the cartoon version but I kind of feel like I like the live action one more because it's a bit more modern and some of the loopholes from the cartoon were answered, what about you guys?

The Skin Inc Limited Edition Disney Beauty and the Beast Kit (30ml) retails at S$169.00 and contains the Vitamin A, Chlorella and Hyaluronic Acid serums so that skin glows from within. While stocks last ❤

Fynn's

Posted on Tuesday, March 21, 2017

Visited Fynn's for casual Australian food over at the South Beach based on Hilary's recommendation (I didn't know they had an entire street filled with restaurants at the hotel basement!) This girl knows so many things about the Instagram world it was fun to pick her brains and learn more . Anyway it was hard to choose just one item off their menu but I settled on the Seared Salmon Filet (S$24.00++) with citrus quinoa, beetroot, cucumber and feta. I feel like the pictures don't do the plate justice because it was seriously pretty - the quinoa actually has hints of pink which complemented the salmon and radishes. The skin of the salmon was grilled crispy and the quinoa zesty. The portion could have been a bit more filling - but I feel like I never really get full on quinoa unless I eat a LOT.

Hilary had the Grilled Chicken (S$19.50) with wild rice, edamame, snow peas, egg and pickled vegetables which looked nice and much more substantial than my dish, tried a little chicken but it was quite a while ago so I can't really remember, haha oops. Anyway on their lunch menu they have other delicious sounding dishes like the Charred Lamb Loins and Smoked Duck Breast so it may be worth going back again to try the rest of what they have to offer!

Seoul 2015

Posted on Thursday, March 16, 2017

I would literally describe this as a video of E-main in Seoul... guest starring me (since I was behind the camera half the time, hahaha). We went to Korea in April 2015 and I actually pieced this entire video together in one day in July 2015 but just got too lazy to upload it... till now! The videos a little dreamy and slow because I literally didn't take enough footage so... if you don't watch it all it's ok, I'm sorry I'll try make more interesting videos next time :'D

I figured since I put in the work I should share it on this space. Enjoy!

One Sunday

Posted on Sunday, March 12, 2017

A really fulfilling Sunday at Ang and Jane's condo - I think it's kinda funny how what always is suppose to be just a morning-lunch event always ends up being a full scale whole day outing kinda thing! It went from eating yummy takeaway food (I am all for low maintenance logistic arrangements for group gatherings, haha); to swimming (or should I say splashing); and then some "Jackbox Party Pack 3" trivia gaming up in the house (GIRLS RULED); all the way into the night for dinner - but it's cool how everyone just comes along for the ride! Even Mimi the Japanese Spitz came along today (yay, thanks Jane for bringing her). She is the greediest dog ever and only has eyes for food, not other dogs, haha, but she entertains us a lot.

Here are the photos!

Also, Neutrogena sent me five whole different suncreens to use which I am loving because I've been needing new sunscreen and it came at such an appropriate time before our pool party!

Of the five sunscreens, two are new additions: the Neutrogena Sheer Zinc Dry Touch SPF50+ PA++++ (S$31.90) for daily use by people like myself with Eczema (it has been awarded with the US-based National Eczema Association Seal of Acceptance in 2016); and the  Neutrogena Beach Defense SPF70 PA++++ (S$28.90) which we lathered up with before swimming since it's waterproof (and seawater-proof!) for up to 80 minutes.

Lastly, if you spend above $30.00 of any Neutrogena products at Watsons, Unity, Guardian, Market Place or Cold Storage, you can get a free sun hat like the one I featured above - which is super value if you think about it since each sunblock is $30.00 already! Might I add that the hat is super well-made as the words are embroidered - not printed on. They have a few different and equally instagram-worthy designs as well, while stocks last!

Wish all weekends were this jam-packed and filled with activities!

Bonus swimming photos of our pasty white selves, hahaha:

Coast, Boracay

Posted on Tuesday, March 7, 2017

Justin and I pretty thorough and careful when it comes to researching accommodations when traveling, however this time we went against our norm of choosing established places with plenty of reviews and instead, booked our stay at Coast, Boracay which had only been open for 4-5 months or so prior to our visit back in November.

The few reviews it had were stellar, and it looked bright, airy and modern compared to the other dated looking accommodations on the island, so we figured... why not?

We weren't disappointed and loved our stay. The benefits of staying in a new hotel is that everything is super new and clean. The staff were plentiful enthusiastic and extremely proactive in saying hi and asking if we needed help. Justin loved chatting with the security guard at the door, and he told us how the hotel pays them much more than other hotels (the increment of which is not a lot of money for Singapore standards, but significant to the locals, which is great)!

We were spoilt for choice during breakfast, and the hotel exited straight onto the beach (not all hotels in Boracay do - look out for it when booking!) I would say the only mini problems we had were that the wifi wasn't the fastest and the hot water was sporadic to say the least. That said, I loved how our hotel had this super cool palm springs motel feel to it, and the fact that it wasn't overly crowded compared to the resort next door (ahem, Henann). I would definitely recommend staying here - just rolling up to the lobby alone when we first arrived was breathtaking in all it's high-ceilinged airiness and chill vibes.

Anyway, we loved splashing around in the resort pools a lot, which were empty so we didn't have to fight for space; spent a lot of time watching Planet Earth / The Crown in our room (don't ask); hunted the best Filipino food Boracay has to offer - the best places to me were seafood at the D'Talipapa market and Mang Inasal which is like a fast food chain selling grilled chicken - we had to go back on three different occasions to even get a seat there! Also: feasted on calamansi muffins, watched sunsets, and squishy sand walks along the beach at night.

So yeah, I don't know what else one can ask for a holiday!
