After everyone left from my birthday / engagement party our suite at the JW Mariott felt a little too big for the two of us, so we mostly hid out in our comfy (and stunning!) bedroom. We've both traveled this year but not together because we've been busy working, so it felt like the first time in a while we had some proper quality time together!


I have a photo of Justin in this exact same pose but he's half naked, hahaha. Actually I have a lot of photos of Justin in the same pose as me because I always frame the photo with him in it first (that and he runs in to model - he's helpful like that) :'D

I love how Parisian houses are literally long length-wise to maximize the windows and light in the house. While I remember how balmy it was the first day we arrived (35C??), the creaky floorboards, the unpractical toilet paper roll holder that we would always knock over when walking in; I also remember the feeling of relief whenever we come back safely to our little temporary home, lazy mornings waking up in our room because it's raining outside, and the many makeshift lunches we made ourselves and ate on our living room floor even though we had a perfectly functional dining room.

Our Airbnb apartment was decently located near Galleries Lafayette and really affordable for Paris at S$200+ a night for the whole apartment (or around S$100 a person/night), much cheaper than a hotel - which is the beauty of Airbnb of course. The only catch is that we had to book it a whole 8 months before our trip because it's really popular and highly rated! But with the leisure of foresight, it wasn't much of a problem. Justin was the one who actually found this place and showed it to me because he knew it suited my aesthetic (aww).

One of my goals when coming back from exchange was to clean my room up and make it a space that I'm really proud of. Though I'm still a little far off, I was really glad to take a step closer last week when Jiehui and I headed to IKEA to buy a whole bunch of stuff that has been on my To-Buy list for a while, including this frame to frame my new piece of art from Wit x Folly. Absolutely excited by what Sipei (@ohhdivine) and Jien (@ji3n) are doing because it was exactly what I was looking for because the funny thing about art is you don't know what you want till you see it. And I feel even more for this piece because it's a custom one where I got to choose the quote, which is my favourite by Dr. Seuss. It was between this and another favourite from A Wrinkle in Time, but it was too cheem according to Justin. Haha. Anyway, if you want a piece for yourself, do approach them! :)

I found a space for all the little trinkets that I dragged home from overseas on my dresser. I don't really have a favourite, but I am particularly fond of the pair of brass cats that I found at a vintage flea market in Brugge, and of course my mini kitchen-unworthy tajine which I successfully toted around Europe for a good 30 days of traveling without it breaking. Actually, transporting pottery home isn't that difficult, I discovered - just bulky, but all you have to do is pad them up with your clothes, don't put them in stupid places like the bottom of your luggage and you're good to go. Anyway, as moody as my last few posts have been, I'm actually really happy with life right now. I like staying busy and being a productive person but still finding time to meet dear friends! I wish I could do more long posts, but I think I'll do more short ones throughout the week and a long post during the weekends, sounds manageable, yeah? I will manage.
