Left: Before post-processing, Right: Post-processing with LR4
If you are debating whether to it's useful to make the jump from Lightroom 3 to 4, I say go for it! Once you open Lightroom 4, it automatically helps you update and import your old pictures and presets over from Lightroom 3, so you don't have to worry about losing any information at all. Also one important difference I noted is that my custom presets are much more organized now, so it cuts down even more time when i'm editing (so more blog posts, yay!).
While there are other post-processing programs to use, such as Aperture, I started with Lightroom and kind of stuck to it. Perhaps one day i'll try Aperture, when i'm done experimenting with Lightroom!
