Travelogue: Barcelona - Catalunya Continued!

So on the exact same day we went to Sagrada Familia, we also visited Park Guell! A must to visit if one is to pass through Barcelona, in my opinion. It is extremely out of the way, especially because it is on a hill, so we took a slow stroll after lunch to it (even though we were very lethargic and badly wanted a nice Spanish siesta!)

We take a bit of a road less travelled and enter through what you can call the "backside" of the park. Not recommmended, as mentioned before, the park is on a hill, and the back entrance is on TOP of that hill!

 





More typical, organic, Gaudi architecture! This is under the bridge.

I will now go off topic and show off my new Rollei 35 from Justin! A surprise gift when I came to Europe! Did you know that it is the ONLY camera ever to be manufactured in Singapore? It is fully manual and the best thing about it is that it has a battery operated light meter, which is really useful for inexperienced manual camera users like me! Can't wait to see how the film turns out!

Ok back to Park Guell!



Park Guell is huge, but we manage to find this large square surrounded by lovely mosaic benches (also more Gaudi work!) which is what the park is really famous for! Don't be fooled by the pictures as it is extremely crowded with tourists -.-



 



We finally reach the main entrance, where we should have entered! Oops! But there are no hard and fast rules when you're holidaying anyway! Park Guell really is much bigger, but we couldn't explore all of it since daylight is short during the winter, but I saw what I was looking for, which is what matters, right?
