Tradition - CNY DAY 1
Posted on Thursday, February 14, 2013
Now that the bulk of Chinese New Year celebrations are over, it's time to blog!
We wake up on Sunday morning to do our tradition of kow tow-ing to our mum. We're pretty old already, but it's always a nice way to start off the day.

Jie goes first cause she's oldest!

My turn, what up!

And the little one takes her turn. I swear our Mandarin idioms gets worse and worse every year haha.

The house is in great shape cause of mum's spring cleaning!

Visiting the dad's side of our family at Uncle Eric's house!

The best part of visiting Uncle Eric's is he and his wife's dogs! The schnauzer is Ge Ge (princess in Mandarin), who only responds to commands in Chinese, and the Golden Retriever is Holly, who was saved from a pet shelter.

Quite a bit of favouritism going on so Holly goes to sulk in a corner haha.

Yes, he is in an Opa Gangnam style phase. We pray he will grow out of it.

Epic number of pictures of my little sister chowing down them Chinese New Year goodies in the background!

Only does tricks for treats. Not sure if lazy, or genius.
I was planning to wear another dress for the New Year but it never came through the post on time. Curses! The clutch is a surprise gift from Justin which he sneakily got on exchange in his last month day. It's the perfect ang pao holder, which he is glad for because he doesn't know what girls use such teeny bags for. The necklace was a gift from my dad for my 21st last year, which I shall wear more around him to let him know I like it.
This is my spotty little sister on the left and my little half-brother on the right. He is a mad scientist, rock n' roll god who is addicted to spaghetti bolognese.
Family photo of the dad's side! I finish all my familial visiting by 2pm on the first day because that's how few relatives I have living in Singapore! Anyway, I hope everyone had an awesome time stuffing their faces with yummy CNY goodies, collecting angpaos, and catching up with relatives. And if it doesn't feel like enough, rest assure we have 10 more days to go! Whoop!
