Bored for the Summer?

Summer is here! If you are looking for a fun, cheesy way to escape the city, why not take a trip to Legoland, Malaysia?
The themepark buddies of the day were Pei Li and my little sister! (Missing Pei Ting, who is studying in London). We spontaneously decided to make the trip down because we all had similar mindsets towards themeparks - no scary rides; and the lamer, the better!
Sadly, there were no Groupon packages at the time, so we got a package deal with WTS Travel (most unfortunate travel agency name ever, you know it) which included a direct coach there and back for $65.00 (includng booking fee).
We came on a Monday, and if you hate theme park crowds, there's nothing to be afraid of at Legoland because this is what greeted us when we arrived as the park opened at 10:00am. Least to say, this pretty much reflected the queues that we had to "deal" with the whole day, which is AWESOME cause then we rode the rides we loved consecutively without ever having to queue - EVER.
Canon seems to be the park's official photo sponsor or something because they have staff like these all over park, asking if you would like your photo taken. Once they do so, they'll give you a special card with a bar code which they scan with some high-tech device and let you know that you can collect your photos at the photo counter at the end of the theme park. It's great cause they don't mind using my camera to help us take a photo as well, but it's a little annoying as the day goes along because they obviously don't have enough guests to take photo of besides us :(

The first thing when we get in is to check out the map, of course! Unlike Hong Kong Disneyland with it's severely bad planning and haphazard theme park arrangement, Legoland is arranged in a sensible race-course layout, going in a circle, so we don't have to reference the map much, and just kept following the main path which eventually led us around the whole park! Reminds me of last summer I spent playing Roller Coaster Tycoon :D
Random Lego figures dot the theme park. I take tons of pictures at first, but stopped seeing the point after a while, because how many pictures of Lego octopuses does the world really want to see anyway?
The first ride we try! It looks so languid and chillax from the outside, going in nice circle, but once you're on it, the centrifugal force kills. PLUS the public can spray gun you while you are on the ride. Right.
The scariest ride in the park to me! This one's called Project X. Possibly cause at one point it went in S-shapes, and it clunked and lurched so much I seriously doubted the workmanship of the roller coaster. Yep. And sneaked a picture at the end before someone caught me of our screaming faces. Why oh why did I agree?

This is the largest coaster in Legoland, which really, isn't very big or very scary. Legoland has much emphasis on family-friendliness so all the rides more or less don't go past a certain scare level, which is great news for a scaredy-cat like me!

The cheapest souvenir you can find in Legoland. This goes at RM5.00 (approx SGD$2.00), and you basically choose the pattern of the coin you want at the machine, roll the pattern onto a little coin, and out it comes! Watch out, it's a little warm because it just got printed.
This ride is only for kids. DAMMIT I WANT TO RIDE A HORSE. They wouldn't even let us on, even though there were horses aplenty and zero queue T.T

OMG the soft toys at this booth were enormous and infinitesimally cute!!! I so wanted the largest size hanging there on the roof!!! Miranda went first, and with a little help from the guy in charge of the booth *ahem*, she gets the second largest prize! Whee!
The game is a sure win - all you have to do is pick four floating dragons with a stick, which have a number underneath them. Add up the numbers and match it to the range, and that's the prize you get! I just copy whatever Miranda chose, and I win second largest too. Yay!!!

This was the most fail ride ever. From afar it looks like those lift and drop kinda things, but in reality, you have to pull yourself to the top. Haha! I'm glad I happened to sit this one out. Had a good time laughing at these two work their arm muscles!

Escaping the heat in the 4D theatre! Honestly, I fell asleep halfway through the 15 minute movie. It was bad, but the aircon was awesome.

Lunch time! I paid RM21.00 (approx S$8.40) for an average chicken burger, fries and a drink. Don't think it was the cheapest deal here in Legoland, but it was decent. And we got a great view such that our meal was punctuated by screams from people going down the flume every few minutes. Hehe.

This is my favourite ride in all of Legoland! It's called the Pharoah's Revenge. You have a gun, you have targets, and you have your own score board. Nothing like a little post-lunch target practice to get your adrenaline pumping in a non-tummy upsetting way!
We ride this 4 times, and our scores get crazier and crazier each time!

Once is enough for this ride for me! These crazy buggers ride 3 times - and apparently there's this part where a bear randomly pops out and growls, and Miranda never fails to scream, no matter how many times she's ridden it and knows it's coming out.

All aboard the Legoland Express! Heard about it being derailed during one of my Corporate Communication modules in school, but really, this ride is so slow that I don't think I'd notice if it did!

Don't text and drive, kiddos. I shudder to think of the day that this girl starts driving and I have to sit in her car, because she successfully managed to crash her boat 6 times.

Paying a visit to the souvenir store! As usual, everything's pretty expensive, but the coolest thing they have are these personalised giant legos that you can engrave your name in! Miranda gets one in pink (of course). It's pricey though - over S$20 if I remember correctly.

Last stop of the day, Miniland! Legoland, Malaysia tries jazzing this Miniland up with an Asian version of all famous landmarks around the region!

We see the Taj, Ang Kor Watt, The Great Wall of China, and of course, little ol' Singapore! There's this button in front of the Merlion exhibit that asks us to push it, and when we do, the Merlion SQUIRTS US with water!!! Guess Malaysia wanted to take the mickey out of us Singaporeans haha.
