Behind the Scenes - Wonderstellar Fashion Show
Posted on Tuesday, June 18, 2013
Hey guys! Here's more of what went down on the day itself of the Wonderstellar x Attica Fashion show! This isn't my first time being involved in behind the scenes stuff for fashion shows having helped organize the first Slightly Scarlet by SMU's Business Society doing the marketing and on the day wardrobe management, but this was definitely a much different experience since I was doing the photography and the hair styling (I have many secret talents i guess? Muahaha.)
Arrived early around 5:00PM on 7th June. Took some test shots during full dressed runway rehearsals because it's easier to get more angles before the club was full!

Really lovely and friendly bunch of girls :) None of that pretentious I am a model, you are a lowly being crap. Considering they had such a short time to practice so many sets of criss cross walking and posing all over the stage, I think the models were really professional and picked it up super fast!

After that it was rush, rush, rush to prep the models for the show! There were lots of extra friendly hands around to help, and I didn't take many pictures because I was busy getting the models hair gone! Terribly envious of their long flowy hair but on the other hand you feel like crying because it takes a million years to curl!!! But they were ever so helpful anyway, helping me hold the mousse and not complaining at all about the wait.

In the mean time people were trickling in just in time for the show to begin! The photo wall was seriously tricky to work with. Note to self: Buy. A. Bigger. Flash.

The club was really crowded by 11:00PM. Luckily I was given a media pass so that I had permission to stand at the media stand and take photos!

And the show kicks off with it's a first set - a denim themed one, with the very lovely Francesca opening up the show with Cindy and Shauna! The models were grouped in threes so that they give the other three time to change between sets. Fashion show logistics haha.

Then Stella, Michelle and Ischelle came out for the next set which is like a Little Black Dress themed one. Michelle's smoulder is too awesome already. All us backstage people were having like girl crushes on her or something! Haha.

Next up was the neon themed set! Ok, each set actually had special names, but I can't remember them now haha. But the styling was definitely cohesive for each one! And you gotta love what I told Cindy is her "Singature runway slouch" hahaha. She is adorablee.

And the last set had a romantic, flowery look! Stella is seriously photogenic, I don't think I got a single bad photo of her!!!
And once Jia Qi, the owner of Wonderstellar, gave out the best dressed prizes, the show was over! Hurrah for us all!

Backstage cam-whoring ensues. To my right is Charlotte! Whom I like to call Charlotte Mole cause when I asked her what her surname was, she pointed to her chin, and I said "MOLE?" cause I have a mole on my chin, which I guess should really have been my secondary guess (and her surname was CHIN. Whoddathunk :D)
Ok, bimbo moment aside, I really had fun that night. Great turnout for the show, great meeting new people and an opportunity to test my photographic skills. Thanks to Wonderstellar once again for making this possible!!!
