Picnic in Paris

Posted on Friday, November 15, 2013

Hello all! This is Melissa and my idea of a picnic by the River Seine on our last day in Paris - we were exactly agreeable on what we needed to have to make it perfectly Parisian - Saucisson, Pâté, Ladurée macarons, cheese & crackers, berries, yoghurt and wine. While our initial plan was to head to the Bois de Vincennes for our picnic coupled with a row along the lake, I wasn't feeling well (meh). Luckily, Mel saved the day by running around the area finding the finishing touches, like the Saucisson fresh from the butcher and the decadent Boursin cheese to make our vision complete! I lost track of the number of bemused Parisians walking past our spread, some even calling out cheerfully, "bon appetit!" to us. The weather was warm (enough for Europe), breezy, with a bit of sun peeking out of the clouds, and we simply enjoyed the view of the Eiffel Tower while the boats floated lazily by on the Seine. We couldn't have asked for more :)
