Christmas in London!

Posted on Monday, December 30, 2013

This is Christmas Day! And as usual, the whole city shuts down - transport, shops, restaurants, you name it. Of course Pei Li, Pei Ting and I prepared ourselves by buying groceries the day before (hooray for Tesco!) and spend the whole Christmas day being exceedingly productive.

No seriously, what did you expect?

In the morning we had gift opening! Here is their adorkable £5.00 Christmas tree from Tesco (See? Yay for Tesco!) I give them these Christmas sweaters, which I forget to take a picture of them in :(

And I absolutely LOVE my gifts from them!!! I have such a crockery fetish now, and I'm planning to use these as catchall dishes for my jewelry. Present selecting creds go to Pei Li, of course, and there's a pretty funny story behind how she chose them.

Anyway, the plates from this store that can be found only in Brighton called Bert's, which sells all kinds of amazingly kitschy cute home stuff for cheap. I know this because I spy similar stuff selling in Urban Outfitters on Oxford Street at 50% more. What??? From Bert's I also buy things like a frying pan that makes heart-shaped eggs for the boyfriend (so he'll make them for me, duh) for just £2.99??? Like I don't even know if it is safe to cook man. Anyway I digress. Just visit Bert's if you are in Brighton! It's a must!

Oh yeah, the onesies. Sometimes you need to rock your inner sleeping glamazon, you know? I get mine from Primark, and Pei Li gets hers from Tesco (again!). Wayyy to comfortable in the house man. Some hazards of wearing a onesie: going to the toilet takes a little longer than usual.

Christmas dinner is a slightly chapalang (but delicious!) affair. Honey roast chicken, chedder stuffed mushrooms, roast veggies (courgettes, butternut squash pumpkin and eggplants!) and guacamole (just cause). No adults around means no restrictions on whatever we want to cook, muahahaha.

Hot chocolate and Bailey's! Sick sick sick.

And that's all! I love days where I just lie around and do nothing.

How did you celebrate your Christmas? :)
