The NARS Velvet Matte Tint

Posted on Friday, March 18, 2016

NARS sent me their newly launched Velvet Matte Skin Tint SPF 30/PA+++ last month, and after heading down to the NARS store at Tangs, the lady at the counter helped me to find my perfect shade - Terre-Neuve - which is the lightest one out of their refined range of 9 different shades for all skin tones!

I've actually only started to wear make-up regularly in the last 2 years (yes, I went through uni barely wearing make-up, k), and I've been really loving my current NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser from the last time but now I love that the NARS Velvet Matte Tint has even more coverage and evens my skin tone whilst still feeling super comfortable - like I am not wearing make up. As you can tell, I love a natural, matte look which, yay, is also in vogue now.

Celeste from NARS also thoughtfully sent over the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer to go with the Velvet Matte Tint! I personally prefer my concealers as a liquid cream rather than as stick as they are easier to spread and I feel like I shouldn't be tugging too much under my sensitive eye area, what about you guys?

Anyway, the Velvet Matte Skin Tint bottle is super chio and smooth it's like... (to be extra cheesey) velvet, and the application feels exactly like - guess what - velvet too! This product is seriously aptly named and I love how I am getting the whole experience from the bottle to the product itself.

Things to note: ALWAYS moisturise before putting this product on (I made the mistake of putting it on direct once oops, but with moisturiser, it was great). Also, to make it last longer, finish it off with a setting powder such as the NARS Light Reflecting Loose Setting Powder. If you have extra time, you can even include an extra step before, which is my personal favourite: the NARS Optimal Brightening Concentrate for extra luminance. I love to use this for extra special days out!

The NARS Velvet Matte Tint is available in Singapore now and retails at S$70.00.
