So I literally did not have time to blog the moment December hit but hey look, I'm back! I'm actually really pleased with myself having shot both CNY and Valentine's Day lookbooks for The Ordinary Co before 2017 was even over, but it was more serendipitous in that I was thinking of reaching out to Ele about shooting her puppies and as if she read my mind, she beat me to it and asked if I wanted to collaborate with her and Guo (of Tweed Twigs!) and just nice it was in time for Valentine's day so we even got Ele's partner, Lee on board for what I now fondly like to call my first family photo shoot :'D

So yeah. Shoot day was a bit off a mess with 4 adorable but crazily energetic puppies running everywhere and tearing up all the flowers (cue many blur photos in which made me want to cry when I first opened the raws, haha) but somehow once they started getting tired and flopping around it got a lot easier to shoot! I'm really pleased with the results and the feedback I've been getting is overwhelmingly positive.

We talked about how my biggest regret in life is being a late bloomer, but I am most grateful for the past 3 years of growth and becoming more introspective and self-aware to how my thoughts lead to my actions and impact my life.

Some say that confidence means accepting who you are unapologetically, but to fully be at peace with yourself doesn't mean that hence the world should bend to your will and accept you wholesale, "take it or leave it". Self acceptance - which inherently leads to self confidence (to me at least) is having the humility to see and acknowledge these shortcomings, living with them, acknowledging that they need to be changed - and changing it.

I guess thanks to everyone who had the patience to guide me there or at least having the patience to wait till I reached it.

Whatever "it" is.

Turning 26 - Part 3

After everyone left from my birthday / engagement party our suite at the JW Mariott felt a little too big for the two of us, so we mostly hid out in our comfy (and stunning!) bedroom. We've both traveled this year but not together because we've been busy working, so it felt like the first time in a while we had some proper quality time together!

I have a photo of Justin in this exact same pose but he's half naked, hahaha. Actually I have a lot of photos of Justin in the same pose as me because I always frame the photo with him in it first (that and he runs in to model - he's helpful like that) :'D

Big thank you to Clinique for my favourite Take the Day Off range - this trio: the Make Up Remover, the Cleansing Milk and Towelettes are all a girl needs at the end of a busy day to keep her face fresh and pimple free (I'd been getting a lot more ever since I started wearing makeup).

I find the Towelette's particularly useful for those midday make up removals when you're too lazy to remove everything first. I really love the closure too because it snaps close too so they don't dry up! You know how a lot of brands use a sticky seal instead and it always peels out? Of course, always I always make sure to end the day off with a proper cleanse with the Cleansing Milk and Make Up Remover of course :)

Also headed up to the rooftop pool because everyone recommended it. It looks fantastic and really cool but it was actually really cold too since it was so high up! The wind kills so we tried to hide in the water most of the time, but we rarely swim except on vacation so we love to take every opportunity!
