Paca-Peeps

Posted on Tuesday, January 20, 2015

I constantly find myself back at Pacamara for brunch, which doesn't make sense on the practical side because there are so many new cafes that are popping up around Singapore every month, but I guess it's a combination of the fact that it's so near (10 minutes walk), and that I love the interiors and how spacious it is (though it is getting more and more crowded these days!!!)

Anyway, headed down once again with couple fwens and cafe hoppers Jiehui & Renhao. We tried not too take too many photos so our food wouldn't be cold. Tried being the operative word here. It's true that we could save a lot of money if we didn't eat brunch at fancy cafes, but then where would all the fun in life be?

Film is Dead

Posted on Sunday, January 18, 2015

*Photography rant, ignore* I paid a ridiculous $26.00 to get my slide film developed at Ruby Photo - this was after a miscommunication on their side in which I was told to come back after a week to collect it, but after a week I came back only to be told to come back in two more weeks because my film only finally got sent out for developing. HUH? Then why even tell me to come back in 1 week when it takes 2 weeks to develop it in first place? I could go to Grace Digital Labs to get my normal film done in 1 hour except they just don't develop slide film, only cross process it, so basically guys, do not go to Ruby Photo ever to get your film developed. *End of photography rant*

It's things like these that remind me why I don't shoot film as much as I used to before (though seeing the full frame images is motivation for me to save up for my 6D. Hopefully this year heh). Justin helped me take this photo while scouting for my location for Kathleen's shoot. Andddd, because I hate it when people act all secretive about locations, this is the rooftop cafe of the YMCA opposite the Grand Cathay. There's a pretty awesome pool, and the cafe is generally empty. I'll upload the rest of the photos soonish.

Kathleen and the New Year

Kathleen for The Ordinary Co
Photography: Myself

If left up entirely to artistic preference, I would have just made this entire album for The Ordinary Co black and white, but I have to sell stuff so you guys get to enjoy it all in colour here! Anyway, the New Year has kicked off to a good start already, and after all the hard work from 2014 between changing jobs and having to really think about what I want to do while I am still young, I'm finally going to put some time aside to start properly traveling again this year!!! Booked my flight for a girly trip to Seoul in April for the cherry blossom season + two exciting trips far away that is a sekret for now (only my close friends know). It's weird, but life is good now, you know? I half keep waiting for the day when suddenly it falls apart because I know how good things never last, but for now, I'm as happy and satisfied with life as I think I can ever be.
