Slightly

Posted on Sunday, September 8, 2013

Who doesn't enjoy a good excuse to dress up? Here's an outfit I've been wanting to wear for a while - and I love that flared pants are back in style. There's something breezy and comfy about them, yet they add an element of effortless chic to the whole outfit. Flared pants are always kind of dressy to me though, so I only pull them out on formal occasions such as for this years Slightly Scarlet runway show organized by SMU's Business Society. As Bondue exco alums, it was fun to go back to see how the current exco is doing with my fashion partner in crime Coco (who helped me shoot these photos, and you can check out her blog to see the ones I shot for her!) I'll post event pictures up another day, anyways. Somehow I'm not sure why I am more excited about my outfit than the event itself, haha!

On Exchange

Posted on Friday, September 6, 2013

7 days to go and I'll finally be in Europe for Exchange! Getting to this point hasn't been easy - it all started with a 10 second window that probably would have changed everything had I hit the right button, but that's that, and I'm still going for exchange, even if it took me a lot more effort than it did for other people. If you think you're having a bad time prepping for exchange, feel free to talk to me and I promise you my experience was probably worse.

As cheesy as it sounds, I really am so thankful for the friends & family who showed me unwavering patience and support. There were so many speed bumps along the way and it was those who took the time to make my problems their own, express sympathy when things couldn't work out, and of course keep me ever enthusiastic that it would all be worth it in the end. I'm actually quoting some random dude from SMU Confessions here - "but it's simple, just never give up on the one who never gave up on you!" And it's so true. People who are true friends don't give up on you no matter how tough and stupid things get. They stand their ground, scream at you, or talk you through till you're OK again. Real friends don't ignore you when the world turns to shit and hiccups happen, and probably will keep in contact with you even when you're far away, because really guys, I'll be back in January, and that's a lot faster than you think.

Wonderstellar Resort Collection Lookbook

Posted on Tuesday, September 3, 2013

Because of the flexibility and nature of my work this Summer, I had the opportunity to pursue some passions that I haven't been able to do properly the past few years in school! Here are some of my favourite shots from the Wonderstellar's Resort Collection Lookbook that were taken at the Amara Sanctuary Resort at Sentosa. It's also my first time doing a fashion shoot, and also my first time meeting familiar face in the blogshop industry, Valerie Wang, who was a real pleasure to work with because she really knows her angles and poses! What I learnt that day was having to shoot at extremely low angles to make the very petite Valerie look taller, cause it's all about perception right? :) Though I wasn't involved in the planning and styling of the photos, it was still a very useful learning experience and I guess I still have a lot more to learn (and more equipment to buy), but baby steps, baby steps!
